The Punjab College of Engineering has witnessed an increase in placement offers for its students. PEC students received 602 proposals from various companies for the 2021-22 session, up 35 percent.
The highest CTC of 64.5 lakh rupees captured seven computer science and engineering students at PECs. This is the highest package the PEC has ever received on campus. This year, the average package at the institute was Rs 13.5 crore, an increase of 24 per cent.
These proposals grabbed 509 students. Some of the major companies from which students received offers are Microsoft, Arcesium, American Express, JP Morgan & Co, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, KPMG, Samsung and Expedia Group.
Students received offers from companies specializing in software, analytics and management, as well as consulting sectors. In computer science and technology, 138 proposals were made for 122 students. 122 proposals were made for electronics and communication for 111 students and 118 proposals for electrical engineering for 117 students. In the field of mechanical engineering as many as 79 proposals were distributed to 103 students and from 38 to 45 students of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Science.
