Abortion pills will be available cheaply at all UC and Cal State University medical centers starting Jan. 1 under a new state law, Los Angeles Times informed.
The law was passed in 2019, while Roe v. Wade was still in effect. Only a few colleges outside of California offer abortion pills to students.
“We knew it was important then, but it’s even more important now,” said state Sen. Connie M. Leyva, the bill’s author. “I think it has a bigger impact.”
