Berghain st Berlin may be known far and wide as Germany’s most iconic club, but according to a new survey it is not among the best in the world. This award goes elsewhere Cologne.
Boothaus in Cologne is again the best club in Germany
Bootshaus in Cologne has once again been named one of the top 10 nightclubs in the world. An annual public vote coordinated by the British DJ Mag for the second year in a row, named the Cologne nightclub the fifth best place in the world.
“The club is famous above all for its high-class line-up and crazy crowd, which strongly resembles a rock concert,” said Niklas Aigner, manager of Bootshaus. “Almost every big artist has played here.”
Berghain dropped to number 12, with Watergate and Tresor also appearing
Three years after the first knocked Berghain off the podium as the best club in GermanyBootshaus strengthened its position in the top 10, while the legendary Berlin club slipped down the rankings to 12th place in 2022.
The other German clubs in the top 100 are also based in Berlin, with Watergate moving up one position to 35th overall, while Tresor climbed 10 positions to 50th. Overall, Hï Ibiza was named the best club in the world, while the USA was awarded the title of “club country number one”, with a total of 16 American nightclubs in the top 100.
