A graduate of Cranfield University won the CarbonStore Top Student Award after achieving the highest grade in the Environmental Sustainability Assessment module of the MSc Environmental Management for Business program completed in 2019-2020.
Millie Baldwin from South Wales received the first of its kind award from CarbonStorewhich sets the industry-leading standard for carbon marketing, works with companies and landowners to offset their residual carbon emissions through reforestation and peatland restoration.
The award, a specially carved wooden trophy along with £250 prize money, was presented to Millie by Alex MacKinnon, Carbon Projects Manager at CarbonStore, at the School of Water, Energy and Environment (SWEE) Awards Ceremony at Cranfield University.
Accepting the award, Millie Baldwin, Sustainability Analyst at EcoAct, said:
“Honestly, I am very happy to receive this award; the module was particularly difficult, so to be recognized for all the hard work is wonderful. I also use a lot of the skills from this module in my day-to-day work, so it’s definitely a confidence booster!”
I chose the course because of its reputation on a par with Cranfield University and because it fits my passion for environmental sustainability. I enjoyed the structure of the course and the wide range of modules.’
As part of CarbonStore’s efforts to strengthen its ties with students, the company has launched an initiative to reward the best students at leading universities offering a master’s degree in sustainability and environmental protection.
