Cardi B tried to keep the peace at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, where her husband Offset and his Migos bandmate Quavo allegedly got into a heated fight behind the scenes.
“You are both wrong. Both of you,” the “Up” rapper said backstage. “That’s wrong.”
TMZ shared the video on Tuesday Cardi B, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzor, who tries to cool the tension between the two people backstage. While it’s unclear who she was talking to, TMZ reported Monday that Offset and his cousin Quavo involved in a dispute.
“Shut up. “Because you shouldn’t have talked,” Cardi B continued in the video, which was filmed and originally posted from Entertainment Tonight.
On Sunday, Offset and Quavo “got into a physical fight and had to be broken up.”
Quavo allegedly “refused” to allow Offset to perform at the Grammys commemorating Takeoff – which died in a shooting in Houston in November at the age of 28 — and wouldn’t let him take the stage until Quavo performed his a tribute to a Takeoff bandmatein accordance with TMZ.
Offset, who has been married to Cardi B since 2017 and has two young children with the rapper, denied the reports.
“What looks like a fight with my brother is crazy,” he said tweeted Monday hours after the TMZ story.
The “Father of Four” rapper also slammed Rap-A-Lot executive James Prince, aka J.Prince, for speculating about his relationship with his cousin Takeoff. Prince claimed in the episode “The million dollar game” podcast that Offset “wasn’t really around Takeoff when he was alive.”
“How dare any of you talk about me and Take’s relationship,” Offset said in a video shared on social networks. “I don’t know you by a can of paint.”
Amid reports of fights and arguments with Prince, Cardi B remembered Takeoff Instagram story. Early Tuesday morning, artist “WAP” shared a photo of Takeoff that was originally posted Instagram account dedicated to the murdered rapper.
“Say no evil,” the caption of the original post proclaimed.
