The Tribune newspaper, now published by Chandigarh, began publishing on February 2, 1881 in Lahore (now Pakistan). It was founded by Sardar Dial Singh Majitia, a public philanthropist, and is run by a trust that includes four prominent figures as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest English-language daily in North India, publishes news and views without any prejudice or bias. Restraint and moderation, rather than propaganda language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the truest sense of the word.
The Tribune has two related editions, the Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and the Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
