Does it matter how teachers treat their students?


Studying is much easier when you know that your teacher loves you. —A day of training

For now love is not the word I would have chosen, I agree with that sentiment – students respond to knowing they are genuinely loved, valued and respected.

This does not mean, of course, that students cannot or do not learn from teachers who do not feel this way about them.

But the more students need a good education to improve their chances in school and life, the more important these qualities are.

And the more people of all ages feel this way about themselves—in the classroom, at school, and in the community—the better their learning outcomes, school experiences, and life chances in general.
