The Danes are used to the world’s best non-native English speakerssecond only to Sweden.
According to Index of First Knowledge of English in Education (EF EPI) Norway, the Netherlands and Estonia have now overtaken Denmark, although Danes still speak English better than Austrians and Finns.
This is not because Danes are getting worse, just other countries are getting better, says one language school in Copenhagen.
Although English guests in Norway and the Netherlands know that they can switch to their native language and expect a good response, it is not known that they will also feel at home in Estonia.
