Thousands of sociologists are expected to attend the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association, which begins on Friday. But the location of the meeting, in Los Angeles, upset some scientists because the city is home to the latest strain of the coronavirus, a version that is highly contagious.

So Alan Martino, a sociologist at the University of Calgary, organized one day Sociological Research Jamborees for tomorrow. The event will be held online, and participation in it will be free. Register here.
