In 2021, 38 programs, including in the fields of artificial intelligence, data science, technology and cybersecurity, were added to Honoris courses to meet growing technical requirements. More than 10,000 students also enrolled in the new 21st Century Honoris Skills Certificate with a focus on “key digital and soft skills needed for a new world of work” that same year. More than 100,000 students are expected to join in the next five years.

In 2021, the number of educational institutions of the network increased from 5,200 people in 2018 to 20,400 in 2021.

“While we continue to adapt to the environment after the pandemic and use technology to expand access to quality education, we take a minute to celebrate this achievement while using it to nourish and fuel the way forward,” Louve explained.

The goal is especially aimed at preparing students with the necessary skills necessary for prosperity during the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Along with a workforce readiness, soft, technical and entrepreneurial skills, Deloitte said young people should be able to participate in lifelong learning. Honoris launched a series coding training camps in 2021together with Le Wagon.

Gonoris said that by 2030, more than 130 million new jobs will be created worldwide, and traditional education models currently do not match the set of required soft and technical skills.

In South Africa, nearly 500 education professionals have been trained to close the gap in qualified teachers across the continent. In addition, in 2021, Honoris awarded more than 1,000 scholarships and scholarships to students across the continent.
