How Weston School District built a digital strategy with a digital sign, 15 minutes at a time

(May 12, 2022) –– Rise Vision published a new case study of Weston School District, a small school district that serves the three rural communities of Casenovia, Hillpoint and Lime Ridge, Weston, and has 300 students. Although the Weston School District does not face the challenges of a large school, it does face its own challenges.

Amanda Keller, who has served as director of social media and public relations at Weston for the past 4 years, discussed the county’s challenges facing students over 12 years of compulsory education. Back in 2018, Weston fought to keep families up to date with printed newsletters.

“It was unpleasant to devote so much time to communication that we knew it would be obsolete before it reached our families and communities,” Keller continues. “Creating bulletin boards, which were very limited in how we could use them, took a long time. These bulletin boards also needed to be updated frequently to keep the images relevant. ”

Thanks to Amanda, Weston has several digital communication channels: there are school sitesocial media channels and school application. The transition was facilitated by the agnosticism of the Rise Vision device. “The original TVs we used for Rise Vision monitors used to be used in classrooms,” says Keller. This allowed the school to experiment and experience the value of Rise Vision on its own without making significant investments in equipment. We encourage schools looking for a solution for digital signage to look for something that will allow them to use the assets they already have.
