The future of the training industry is an ecosystem

Hundreds of articles have been written about it since March building trust and guide staff through the complexities of productive work during a pandemic. These articles must emphasize the hearing, empathy and collaboration as necessary leadership qualities to create a “new job”. Women know how to listen, empathize and cooperate. These characteristics are embedded in our DNA and are just some of them many skills we bring to work every day.

It is time for everyone to recognize the female contribution well-being in the workplace. But recognition rarely happens by accident. In order for women leaders to rise and gain recognition for their innate skills, they must first think about interactions where they have successfully used listening, empathy, and cooperation, and then create a clear plan to promote each skill. With the plan, they will be more confident in their abilities and will not fall victim to the feeling that they need to know more before jumping into new territory.

The plan they develop is the first step in training their DNA. With that goal in mind, here are some tips you can share with women leaders (or yourself):

Listening

Women are able to seek balance and harmony in personal life and at work, actively building relationships and listening well. Often we are the people who are needed when colleagues and staff need advice and guidance. Formalize your listening skills by offering become a teacher if your organization has a structured mentoring program. As a teacher, you are on the radar of senior executives, expanding your sphere of influence beyond your department.

Another way to use your listening skills is to participate in a group or task force to solve a complex problem. Invite and discuss Fr. diverse thoughts and opinions. By actively creating a micro-environment of trust where creative thinking can thrive, you can create a living example of your capabilities and earn the recognition of senior executives.

Empathy

You can strengthen your empathy skills by asking open-ended questions that begin with “How would you be,” “How can we …” and “What do you think?” These tips evoke deeper thoughts and shift conversations beyond the emotional response to critical problems. Use this technique in meetings with staff, mentors, and task force to establish yourself as a person who recognizes the feelings of others and can move through a complex or emotionally charged topic to a solution.

Cooperation

When you are collaborating with others, think about who is not in the room and whether you should add other voices to the conversation. Everyone is busy and most of them work remotely under high stress. Clearly set the purpose of the collaboration and how it benefits the company, customers or employees. When you articulate a great goal, it becomes easier for others to see its value.

As with any skill development, consider your development plan as an organic job that needs to be changed as needed. If you are in a meeting or have the opportunity to go beyond your job description, think strategically about how you can become a more valuable employee and colleague using your innate skills. Be prepared to link your actions to the benefit of the customer or company. In these unpredictable times, every company strives to build both internal and external loyalty.

Trust, creativity and productivity are the qualities that will determine a successful new job, and a trust environment emerges when listening, empathy and cooperation are present. With a propensity to communicate and build relationships, women can be role models for shaping future work.
