For most of our lives we have been conditioned to think that certain things are absolute truths. Take, for example, the saying that practice makes perfect. While this sounds great in theory and can be a great motivator to pursue growth opportunities, there is a fundamental flaw in this message. Take, for example, bowling. The ultimate goal of any bowler is to achieve a perfect score of 300 without getting anything but strikes. By any standards, this is an impressive achievement. While perfection can be achieved with the right amount of practice, you’d be hard-pressed to find any professional bowler who scores 300 consistently. Hence the need to constantly improve productivity.
