Sammy is the Executive Director of the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy. In her role, Sammy provides guidance and support to nonprofits and charities in their efforts to strengthen Mississippi children, families and communities.
His work includes interacting with nonprofits, foundations, United Ways, public sector organizations, and businesses across the state. Prior to becoming executive director of The Alliance, Sammy served as director of the Mississippi Grants Association (MAG).
Prior to joining MAG, Sammy worked as a senior advisor in the United Way Worldwide fieldwork department, where he worked with local United Ways interested in third-grade reading programming and investing. Sammy also worked as a senior fellow at the Annie E. Casey Foundation in Baltimore, Maryland, the country’s largest private foundation dedicated solely to building a stronger future for vulnerable children and their families.
Sammy’s official education, a native of Emory, Mississippi, includes a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Mississippi, a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in public administration from Kennedy School at Harvard University.
