NAIFA has opened the NAIFA Family Response Fund to assist members of the association affected by the devastating flooding in Kentucky, which resulted in many counties in the state being declared a state of emergency. In addition to massive flooding, severe storms, landslides, wind and tornadoes have caused significant property damage and loss of life.

NAIFA initially established the NAIFA Family Response Fund to assist members affected by previous hurricanes and later expanded it to help NAIFA members cover unexpected medical or funeral expenses related to the COVID-19 outbreak. It was also open to members affected by severe winter storms and wildfires.

“People turn to insurance and financial professionals when natural disasters strike, and NAIFA members are always ready to help,” said NAIFA President Lawrence Holtzberg, LUTCF, LACP. – But we often forget that agents and consultants are also directly affected by natural disasters. NAIFA Nation is a family and we always react quickly when we see our family members in need”.

Anyone who would like to donate, as well as NAIFA members or their dependents seeking assistance, can do so at NAIFA Family Response Fund webpage.

NAIFA worked with its grant management partner, the Community Foundation of Acadiana, to establish the fund and is currently accepting contributions to meet urgent needs. The NAIFA Family Response Fund follows similar efforts by NAIFA to assist members affected by other natural disasters, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in 2017, Hurricane Florence in 2018 2020, wildfires in the western US in 2020, Hurricane Ida in 2021, and devastating Texas Winter Storms in 2021.
