Chinese Startup Augmented Reality (AR) Nreal will bring its smart glasses to the UK this spring.
The British mobile operator EE, owned by the telecommunications group BT, confirmed the news on Tuesday, saying it was working with a Beijing-based company to “exclusively bring Nreal Air AR glasses to the UK’s best network for 5G”.
Nreal Air AR sunglasses, which look like sunglasses, offer users two different modes: “Air Casting” and “MR Space”. Air Casting allows users to watch movies on a 130-inch virtual HD display, while MR Space allows users to experience a “mixed reality” environment and “transfer innovative AR technology,” EE said in press release.
Details of the product release date or price remain unclear. EE said the glasses will be available “later this spring”.
“We are excited to enter the UK market in partnership with EE and we look forward to building the AR ecosystem together. At Nreal, we are passionate about bringing AR into the daily lives of consumers, which will revolutionize the way the Internet once did, “Nreal co-founder Peng Jin said in a statement.” AR will surpass the current mobile experience, especially when it comes to browsing. videos, exercise and PC games and cloud video games ”.
