This summer, two American attentiveness experts are heading to Sussex for their only event this year in the UK, which gives people the opportunity to learn to be kind to themselves and let go of criticism.

The Sussex Awareness Center is excited to host the Attentive Compassion (MSC) seminar in 2022, led by U.S. program founders Dr. Christine Neff and Chris Hermer.

The MSC Core Skills program, to be held in Brighton, is a workshop with conversations, guided meditations, exercises with experience and group discussions.

Participants will learn practices that evoke self-compassion, and justify them.

Dr. Robert Marx, Clinical psychologist consultant and co-supervisor Sussex The Care Center said:

“We are delighted to welcome to Brighton the founders of the Attentive Well-Being Program (MSC) – Chris Hermer and Christine Neff. The MSc is a program with ever-evolving international reach that enables people of all walks of life to cultivate kindness and compassion in the workplace, in families and in life. Chris and Christine are now rarely taught together outside of the United States, so we hope you will join us for this unique opportunity. ”

Dr Chris Hermer said: “Christine and I are delighted to be teaching this program together in the UK, especially at the Success Center in Sussex, where care is so well established and respected.

“Self-compassion maintains attentiveness, creating a safe place for our experience, no matter what we experience, being a good friend to ourselves. Research has clearly shown that self-compassion is good for us – it is strongly associated with happiness and well-being, fighting life problems, reducing anxiety and depression, healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships.

“Fortunately, everyone can learn self-compassion. Participants in this program will experience the highlights of the eight-week program Attentive well-being programs and they will learn how to keep compassion for themselves in the hustle and bustle of daily life. ”

The workshop will be held at the Old Ship Hotel, 31-38 Kings Road Brighton BN1 1NR, July 2-3, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
