Review: Sword of Oleander by Tasha Suri

I will buy and read anything Tasha Suri writes. After the complete triumph of Jasmine throne, I knew I had to read the sequel. I was lucky enough to read the first copy Oleander sword and that’s it, this sequel is everything. Talk about action! Continue reading this book review for full thoughts.

The prophecy of the nameless god—the words that declared Malini the rightful empress of Pariyatdwipa—turned out to be both a blessing and a curse. She is determined to claim the throne offered to her by fate. But even with the power of anger in her heart and an army of loyal men by her side, the overthrow of her brother will be a fierce and bloody fight.

The power of the immortal waters flows through Priya’s blood. A thrice-born priestess and elder of Ahiranya, Priya dreams of seeing her country rid of the rot that plagues it: both the poisonous rule of Pariyatdwipa and the flourishing disease that is slowly spreading through all living things. But she still doesn’t understand the truth of the magic she carries within herself.

The chosen paths once separated them. But Malini and Priya’s souls remain as intertwined as their destinies. And they soon realize that uniting is the only way to save their kingdom from those who would love to see it burn, even if it costs them.

Oleander sword this is another triumph. Going back to this multiple POV with my favorite characters was such a treat. Given the enormous consequences and changes that shook the earth after the first, Oleander sword it is almost a constant action. Caught in a war, Malini and Priya must realize the cost of dreams and new sacrifices for our ambitions – and love. I loved watching these characters grow and develop and make difficult choices.

Meanwhile, back with the other side characters – I won’t name names for you, read the book! – gives Oleander sword a sense of scale and danger. To know that battles are never won simply and that the end of the story is not yet in sight. At first, I liked how they communicate via letters – a hint of desire – but honestly, Sword of Oleander has some scary goings on. Suri really puts our hearts through the emotional wringer.

Through Sword of Oleander I kept asking myself, “Can they survive this?” After all, war, struggle, sacrifices can change a person. And while I loved seeing them come into their own, not everyone can handle it. With higher forces – and there there is intervention – offer us power with consequences, salvation and sacrifice, what do we do? Oleander sword a must read for anyone who loves Jasmine throne. The action and pace are second to none. Full of epic achievements, you can scream with me while we wait for book three – because my heart is all you…Find Oleander sword on Goodreads, amazon, Indie, Bookshop.org and Book storage.
