So We Meet Again, Suzanne Park Book Review!

So we will meet again tells the story of how Jesse Kim was fired from his job due to his lack of leadership potential. At 28, she is now unemployed and lives at home. What else could possibly go wrong in her life? She got this answer when she ran into her childhood rival at the store, Daniel Choi, with whom something always happened. At a personal crossroads in her life, she decides to relaunch her cooking YouTube channel, which she started in college. She finds help in the least likely place – well, a person: Daniel. Together, they work to help her achieve her goals while struggling with their attraction to each other.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I really enjoyed this book and thought Jesse was fun to watch. She spent her whole life feeling second best, and when she was let go from the company, that insecurity came flooding back. I love how the author dealt with Jessie’s insecurities because you really see her grow into a more secure version of herself. She learns to stand up for what she wants and ends up trusting herself in the process.

As much as I liked Daniel, I didn’t feel like his character grew as much as I would have liked. I liked his humor and confidence. Also, I felt like he was a good balance for Jessie because he encouraged her to push herself to be the best version of herself. However, I would like to see more of Daniel in the book, but I understand that we are meeting again about how Jessie found her way. While I appreciated the characters and their story, I thought their romance was a bit rushed. We were only given glimpses of their relationship. But when they did have romantic moments, they were tastefully done and very swoon-worthy.

I ended up giving this book four stars. I think it would be fun and cute to add to my collection. This book became my introduction to this author. I will happily pick up another of her books in the future. If you are a fan of “enemies to lovers” and journeys of self-discovery, you should read this book. If you end up reading this book, let me know your thoughts in the comments and happy reading!
