“Spider-Man” from Sudan: a real superhero of the protest movement


In the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, an anonymous protester dressed as Spider-Man joins hundreds of thousands of protesters who are desperate to defend their fragile civilian government after the October 2021 military coup. “Spider” became well known on social media for jumping from billboards. and lifting the tops of buildings, dodging tear gas. However, it was his work with some of the poorest children in Khartoum that showed that he has become a positive focus for resistance, helping the new generation to know their worth and be proud of their country’s rich heritage.
