Students have the opportunity to opt out of the ICSE exams

The Indian School Certificates Examination Board (CISCE) has sent a proposal to the Bombay High Court stating that students may not appear for the remaining exams, in which case they will be assessed based on their performance in internal or pre-session exams.

Several ICSE exam papers remained, as they could not be conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, CISCE decided to hold the remaining exams from 2 to 12 July. The CISCE proposal also stated that “to avoid doubt, in those subjects where examinations have already been taken, results in these subjects will be announced based on the student’s performance in such examinations.”

The next hearing in this case will be held on June 17.

During the first hearing, ISCE stated that it had already announced safety measures for children, which included daily sanitation of examination halls / classrooms after each examination paper, maintaining a social distance of at least 6 feet in seating, gradual entry and exit to avoid examinations. , thermal review of students and staff.

The board also noted that students will not be allowed to share or take stationery from other students. Meanwhile, an application was filed with the Supreme Court to cancel the notice of the remaining 12th grade exams.
