The Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group will honor 16 teenagers in the region who responded to the pandemic with courage, creativity and innovation at their 11th annual Dreammakers and Risktakers Awards on Thursday, May 5th.

Among the honored:

Dublin High School student Ankita Hatri, who made it her mission to share the science and chemistry behind drug addiction and prescription abuse, with her classmates during the pandemic.

Kyle Johnson, president of Las Pazitas College’s student government, led a review of the college’s equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility policies.

Dorothy Katsipon, Cadence Johnson, Kaylee Natch, Calvin Schauler, Naomi Zika, Livermore and Granada High School students who turned their pandemic experience into an original stage musical.

Evelyn Arroyo, chair of the Livermore District Youth Advisory Commission, which organized the registration of teenage voters in 2020, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Gavin Jean, a student at Monte Vista High School who raised more than $ 7,000 and recruited more than 50 volunteers to help build Livermore Village of Good, a tiny home community for the chronically homeless.

Foothill High students Vishal Mutaraja, Premkumar Giridhar, Kishor Hariharan, Tarun Prakash, Jacob Balana and Logan Diki have set up an automated visiting system to prevent false reports of missing in their online engineering class.

Dagherty student Gothic Trived, who created a prototype device for diagnosing multiorgan dysfunction in patients quarantined at home with COVID-19.

NBC Bay Area News presenter Jessica Aguirre will host the program from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Palm Event Center in Vineyard, 1184 Vineyard Ave., Pleasanton.
