Updates are available for loss of learning grants for Idaho families

An online form is available to parents interested in a grant program designed to combat loss of learning among Idaho students.

The formposted on the website of the State Board of Education, allows parents to receive updates on $ 50 million in parental grants that the legislature has adopted to help families cover the cost of a number of educational needs such as laptops, internet access, study materials, or physical or occupational therapy.

The first money will go to families earning less than $ 60,000. Recipients can receive up to $ 1,000 per student or $ 3,000 per family.

The grant is still in “early development,” according to the State Council website, but parents can fill out an update form until the registration window opens later this summer.

The form and subsequent updates are available in English and Spanish.
