XJTLU sets up Academy of Pharmacy

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in China has established its XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy.

This institution will also be home to various research centers such as the XJTLU-UoL Pharmacology Research Center and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Informatics and Data Science.

The academy is supported by Liverpool University, the XJTLU parent school, and will receive support from the Suzhou local government, as well as numerous partners in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Together, universities seek to use their expertise to launch the offshore innovation center XJTLU.

Earlier this year, the institution established XJTLU Learning MallChina’s first online online learning ecosystem

The XJTLU Pharmaceutical Academy plans to accept 2,000 students by 2026

The first set of students will enter the university for the academic year beginning in 2021, and by 2026 it is planned to have 2,000 students.

The academy will have three departments (Biopharmaceuticals, Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy) that will have six undergraduate programs, eight master’s programs and even doctoral programs.

Dr Imin Dean, Vice President of XJTLU, said: “The biopharmaceutical industry is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. It is also an exciting industry – with the development of artificial intelligence and nanotechnology, there are many opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation in this field. “

Key research areas of the new academy will include artificial intelligence

Research at the academy will focus mainly on AI and pharmaceutics, the development of new therapeutic drugs and strategies, and clinical pharmacy.

Professor Yumin Xi, Executive President of XJTLU, believes it is time for universities to rethink themselves and change the way they interact with society and society.

Xi views the current XJTLU as version 1.0, a traditional university, and stated: “The second version is based on bringing industry and external resources to the university to create a new model of education that combines knowledge from different disciplines. We developed XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) as XJTLU Version 2.0.

“The third version is when universities use society and society’s resources to create lifelong learning, innovation and interest-based entrepreneurship. With the launch of the Academy of Pharmacy we are preparing for XJTLU version 3.0 ”.
